LADDER SAFETY AND RESTRAINT

INCORRECT USE OF LADDERS STILL CAUSES ALMOST 2000 INJURIES PER YEAR WITHIN THE WORKPLACE. ALTHOUGH THIS STATIS IS GETTING BETTER, PROPER TRAINING WILL REDUCE ACCIDENTS AND PROVIDE A SAFER WORKPLACE 

 

The ladder, contrary to belief, has not been banned from the workplace.  If it is right to use a ladder, then let's use it safety and correctly.  There is no coincidence that ladder accidents are reducing year on year and that the introdcution of the ladder safety and restraint course plays its part in this statistic.  This half day, in-house course will provide individuals with the knowledge of how to use ladders in a safe manner.

Who should attend the course?
This course is designed for those personnel who are frequent users of ladders as part of their duties albeit daily or periodically within the workplace.

Persons who would benefit from this course would be managers, supervisors and operatives from industrial, construction and retail environments.

Course Aims
The course aims to give delegates an understanding and competence to:

  • Assess and determine when it is appropriate to use ladders.
  • Correctly position and secure ladders and stepladders.
  • Hazard identification in the use of ladders.
  • Inspection standards.
  • Correct storage and handling of ladders and stepladders
  • Understanding of the law and standards relating to the use of ladders.

Successful participants will receive an attendance certificate from Akeva Safety Solutions which is valid for 3 years.
